If you’re an avid traveller, then the Sakura (cherry blossoms) in Japan is up there on the list of natural wonders to see before you die.
Unfortunately, like the Northern Lights, it can be equally unpredictable. Sakura season can be short and is extremely weather-dependent — wind and rain easily destroy the delicate blossoms.
If you have a private jet, the viewing season starts in Tokyo in late March. If not, put it on your to-do list of sites to see in 2014.
